Dreaming About Life
July 20, 2026
After drifting between different countries and cities for more than thirty years, I finally realized that no place is truly comfortable. The world around us is always changing, and things come and go like fleeting clouds. The only two constants are change itself and the unpredictability of life.
Decades pass in the blink of an eye. There simply is not enough time to suffer or agonize over external things. Achievements and professional titles are ultimately just a few lines written on paper… Apart from the connections we have with the few people we care about, there is not much else.
I used to think that songs such as Eric Moo’s “Life Is Like a Dream” (Rénshēng Rú Mèng) or Sheena Ringo’s “Life Is Full of Dreams” (Jinsei wa Yume Darake) sounded as though they had been written simply for the sake of writing a song. But as time passes, you gradually begin to understand why artists and poets often compare living to dreaming.

Sólo venimos a dormir, sólo venimos a soñar: No es verdad, no es verdad que venimos a vivir en la tierra.
We only came to sleep, We only came to dream: It is not true, it is not true that we came to live on the earth.
